Ghost of the Miller's Boy Trail
The Ghost of the Miller’s Boy Trail Run takes place on 28 Oct 2026 and is a 10km narrative midweek, night-time trail that starts and finishes at The Maypole Public House in Thaxted. The route runs largely off road on footpaths, bridleways and tracks around Thaxted, with some short sections on quiet roads.
This is a self-navigation event. Participants receive a written route description on the day; there are no course markings, marshals or GPX files. It is not a mass start event and participants will be timed out and back in at the finish. Runners are required to carry a mobile phone and their own lighting and are responsible for their own navigation.
Walkers and runners are welcome. Entry fees are £12 for affiliated runners and £14 for non-affiliated, plus a 50p booking fee; the fee is non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by the organisers. The entry includes a drinks voucher from The Maypole (selected list or a maximum value of £4.50). All profits from the event will be donated to the ongoing restoration of John Webb’s Windmill (John Webbs Windmill CIO).
As with all UKA events, running with dogs is not allowed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
