Family Tough Guy and Gal Challenge Rotorua
The Family Tough Guy and Gal Challenge in Rotorua is a family obstacle course event held on Saturday 22 August 2026 at Lakes Ranch, 79 Lake Rotokawau Road, Owhata, Rotorua. The course is an approximately 3 km route; course distance can vary between venues while organisers equate the fastest times to a flat 3 km cross country course.
The route uses outdoor terrain that may include farmland and natural bushland and features a mix of obstacles such as mud pits, climbing walls and crawling tunnels. Facilities at the venue include hot showers, a large hot swimming pool, parking and first aid support. Hot food and beverages are available for purchase and most vendors prefer cash.
Teams consist of two to five people and must follow age composition rules. Examples of permitted team combinations include one adult and one child for a two person team, and two adults plus three children for a five person team. A maximum ratio of one adult to three children applies. Teams of four or five receive three bibs per team and four or five medals depending on team size.
Every entrant receives a finishers medal and can download a completion certificate. Personalised race numbers can be requested if entries are completed at least three weeks before the event. Dogs are not permitted at the venue. Merit prizes are not awarded and spot prizes are drawn at prize giving where winners must be present to collect.
