Nuclear Fallout

Nuclear Fallout is a muddy obstacle race held in November on farmland near Brentwood, Essex. The event runs on a permanent course that uses woodland, bogs, lakes and rivers and combines natural and man-made obstacles. Signature obstacles include the 20 foot Deathslide, a Travelator and a multi‑lane zip wire into water.

There are multiple race distances on the same lapped terrain. Each course is chip timed and awards a finisher medal. Water obstacles have buoyancy aids available and the event provides hot washdowns, changing facilities, a free car park, free bag drop and free finishers photos. Spectators are welcome in the event village, which offers food, music and merchandise nearby.

Distances offered:

  • 6 km, over 40 obstacles, set across farmland, woodland and lakes
  • 12 km, two laps of the 6 km course, 70+ obstacles
  • 24 km+, three laps, 200+ obstacles for endurance racers

The course mixes mud, steep or uneven terrain and late season weather. Obstacles may be skipped with no penalty so participants can set their own pace. Every finisher at each distance receives a medal and a free finishers photo. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
