About the race
Endure Better Backyard Ultra on February 20, 2027, at Se7en Wetlands Park in Lakeland, FL uses the backyard ultra format: runners complete a single 4.167-mile loop every hour. At the start of each hour a bell signals the group to begin the next lap; runners must complete the loop within the hour to continue. The event ends when one runner completes a loop alone and all others have stopped.
The course follows Florida trails and open fields inside Se7en Wetlands Park, with a short return spur that brings runners back to homebase each lap. Trails are described as runnable, with repeated opportunities to pass the same support area every hour. Runners will experience wetland sunrise and sunset views as the hours progress.
Crews are welcome and there is room at homebase for personal setups such as tents, chairs, and coolers. A centrally located aid station at homebase is available each hour and offers gels, drink mix, candy, chips, hot food, water, and other standard aid station items. Personal aid or pacers are not allowed on the loop itself.
Logistics note: Lakeland is near Tampa and Orlando, with Tampa International and Orlando International airports within driving distance. Registration opens August 7 at 9 AM PST.
