Christiansen Trail Run : Mountain View Park, Phoenix
The event is a 14 mile trail race held on January 2, 2027, with start and finish at Mountain View Park, 9901 N. 7th Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona. The course follows Trail 100 from Mountain View Park to Dreamy Draw and back, through the City of Phoenix North Mountain Preserve.
The route is mostly single track and includes steep climbs and descents, rugged terrain and loose rocks. The trail is marked as difficult because of its length and some technical sections, though much of the terrain is moderate in difficulty. A 4 hour time limit is applied, equivalent to a 17 minute per mile pace.
Aid stations are located at miles 2, 4, 7, 10 and 12. Water and Gatorade are provided at all aid stations, and energy gels (GU) are available at miles 4 and 10. All athletes receive a technical running shirt. There are finisher and division awards.
The Christiansen Trail Run began in 1987 and was one of the earliest organized trail runs in Arizona. The route is situated in central Phoenix, between Phoenix, Scottsdale and Paradise Valley, and is used by both locals and visitors as a running route.
