Burney Mountain 100

The Burney Mountain 100 is a 100 Miler held in Cassel, CA that loops through Lassen National Forest, the Burney Basin, and the Thousand Lakes Wilderness. The event is organized by Intermountain Endurance and is scheduled for June 18, 2027.

The course runs in true mountain terrain and offers four possible route variations labeled A, B, C, and D. Final routing depends on seasonal snowmelt. Course A is the only variation that fully summits Magee Peak and is used in low snow years. The route includes varied surfaces such as rocky ridgelines, forest singletrack, open high country slopes, and soft forest floor, with roughly 15,000 feet of cumulative climb.

Runners must download the GPX file to a watch or phone. A Runner's Guide provides aid station, drop bag, crew, and pacer information, and notes that Intermountain Endurance events are cupless races; runners should bring their own reusable cup.

Beginning in 2027, entrants must complete either eight hours of trail work or twelve hours of race volunteer service. Camping at Burney Mountain Guest Ranch is provided as free dry camping on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights for runners and crew; lodging upgrades are available at a discount for runners. Amenities at the ranch include a restaurant, saltwater pool, laundry, and cornhole. Nearby attractions listed include Burney Falls, Lassen National Park, and Baum Lake.

All race entries are non refundable. Deferrals are allowed up to one week before race day and transfers up to one day before race start. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
