Blackwater Dam
Blackwater Dam is one of ten races in the Lochaber AC Winter League 2026/2027. It is scheduled for Kinlochleven on Sunday 24 January 2027 and is classified as a long race. Long races are defined as 9.1+ miles.
As a long race, participants are required to carry full body cover. Required items listed for all long races include jacket, trousers, hat, gloves, whistle, compass and map. Juniors aged 16 and 17 may only compete in short and medium races, so they do not compete in this event.
Entry fees follow the league structure: £3 at all races for Scottish Athletics members, and £3 for non-Scottish Athletics members at races other than the three specified higher-fee events; Blackwater Dam is not one of the higher-fee events. Where possible, organisers will use an alternative route if a race is affected by bad weather or other circumstances. Decisions about route errors or similar issues are referred to the full Lochaber AC committee, with results held pending its decision. Results for league races are posted on the Lochaber AC Facebook page and website after each race.
This is a winter league event; participants must prepare for winter conditions by carrying or wearing suitable clothing and equipment and take full responsibility for their involvement. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
