Turkey Shuffle - Carrollton
The Turkey Shuffle is held at Ted Polk Middle School in Carrollton, Texas. The event is organized around multiple running options and a family oriented festival atmosphere with on course aid, music, and post race refreshments.
Distances offered include:
- Kids Dash, about 50 meters, for children 10 and under.
- 1 Mile.
- 5K, listed as 3.11 miles.
- 10K, listed as 6.22 miles.
- Virtual Run, 6.22 miles.
- Volunteer then Run 5K option.
The Kids Dash is not timed and includes a tee shirt, medal, and a recognition pin. The 1 Mile event is not chip timed and includes a tee shirt and medal. The 5K and 10K are chip timed; both include overall trophies for male and female winners, special recognition pins for masters, and standard age group awards covering categories from 10 and under through 70 plus with 1st to 3rd place pins in most age groups. All finishers of all distances receive a medal and shirt.
A costume contest awards a "Biggest Turkey" Trophy and a prize pack that includes a certificate for two future race entries, a HEB gift card, and a Bigfoot Running Company Swag Pack. A DJ will provide music and announcements. Aid stations supply water and on course assistance. Packet pickup is offered starting 1.5 hours before the event. Volunteer roles and group pricing options are available. Races proceed rain, shine, hot or cold and no refunds are issued; transfers or virtual entries may be arranged.
