Bar-Ka-Koo Ultra & Relay
Bar-Ka-Koo Ultra & Relay is a trail event at Chickakoo Lake Recreation Area in Parkland County on November 21, 2026. Registration opens September 5, 2026. The total course is approximately 55 km, composed of five 11 km loops.
The course is about 75% technical single-track, with minimal course marking. Participants alternate direction on each loop. The format is self-supported with mandatory checkpoints on each loop and a 10 hour overall cutoff. The start and finish are located at a park gate. The park will remain open to the general public during the event.
There are three entry categories with limited spots:
- Solo Full Moose: 60 spots, $55 Early Bird, $80 after Sep 12.
- Half Rack 2-person relay: 10 spots, $110 Early Bird, $150 after Sep 12.
- The Herd 3-5 person relay: 8 spots, $250 Early Bird, $300 after Sep 12.
Event registration includes event-branded swag and all finishers receive a medal. Package pick-up is available only on the day of the event; there is no early pick-up. At the start/finish aid area there is a participant warming tent and basic hot and cold drinks. Outhouses are onsite. Dogs are not allowed on the race course.
All finishers are entered into a draw; one name will receive a portion of net proceeds. A portion of net proceeds will also be donated to Little Warriors. If the event is cancelled, registration fees will be refunded less fees. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
