BALS Backyard, Westminster Park (Rock Hill, SC)
BALS Backyard is a Last Person Standing running event on October 17, 2026 at Westminster Park in Rock Hill, South Carolina. The event uses a measured 4.167 mile loop through the park with approximately 400 feet of elevation gain and loss per loop.
The format requires runners to complete one loop each hour. A sequence of whistles and a starting bell signal the beginning of each loop. All runners must be present in the corral when the bell rings to continue. Runners may not receive crew aid while they are on the loop and may not discard items on the course; failure to follow these rules results in an immediate DNF. The final remaining runner must complete one additional loop to be declared the winner. Runners who cannot complete a loop within 60 minutes are recorded as DNF.
Crew and logistics include 12 by 12 foot crew spots assigned by registration order, with setup permitted the evening before and the morning of the event. Packet pick up is scheduled across the two days around the event weekend.
One aid station will operate at the pavilion near the start/finish corral offering water, electrolyte drink mix, and limited organic snacks and homemade items. Participants are responsible for their own fueling strategy.
Swag bags include BALS logo merchandise and a sticker; finishers receive a handmade award and a finisher sticker. Participants who complete eight loops receive a 50K pin. The event will be streamed during the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
