Flagstaff Extreme Big Pine Trail Runs
Flagstaff Extreme Big Pine Trail Runs take place at Fort Tuthill County Park in Flagstaff, Arizona on Saturday, June 19, 2027. The event offers multiple trail distances over forested terrain and mesa vistas on trails above 7,000 feet.
Distances include:
- 50K : 31.0 miles, 2,440 ft total elevation gain, max elevation 7,701 ft
- 27K : 16.8 miles, 1,293 ft total elevation gain, max elevation 7,137 ft
- 13K : 8.56 miles, 648 ft total elevation gain, max elevation 7,137 ft
- 6K : 4.12 miles, 287 ft total elevation gain, max elevation 7,137 ft
Courses use a mix of narrow single track and wider forest paths on the Soldiers Trail and Highlands Trail Loop. Runners will pass through ponderosa pine stands, climb to mesa viewpoints, and return to tree-lined sections. Course marking includes orange plastic ribbons with black polka dots, colored laminated signs at junctions, and blue and white checkerboard flagging for wrong way trails.
Aid stations are placed roughly every 4.0 to 7.3 miles and supply water, an electrolyte drink (Gnarly Fuel-2O), sweet and salty snacks, and fruit. Pacers are permitted only for the final loop of the 50K; crews are allowed at the start and finish area only. Drop bags are available at the start/finish area.
On-site amenities and services listed by the organizer include medical staff at race headquarters, chip timing with finish-line results, live split tracking, awards for top three men and women at each distance, finisher campfire mugs or wooden awards, and a nearby tent-only group campground with limited paid permits.
