Across Wales Walk

The Across Wales Walk is an annual challenge walk that crosses the principality of Wales on a linear route of 45 miles, to be completed within 18 hours. The event has run for many years and is described as a classic of the challenge walking calendar.

The event is organised as a full weekend package. The package includes overnight accommodation before and after the crossing, coach transport to the start and return to Clun, refreshments provided en route, and a presentation ceremony at the end. Entry and route information, maps and guidance are published by the organisers, along with event updates and frequently asked questions.

Recent editions have reported high completion rates and variation in format when required by circumstances; for example, one edition operated with a reduced field to meet public health requirements. Qualification requirements have been adjusted in the past. The event is scheduled as the 63rd Across Wales Walk on 5 September 2026 and bookings for that edition are open. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
