Trail Running calendar near Hamilton County 2026-2027

Trail races in Owen-Putnam State Forest offer 10K, 14 miles, 50K and 50 miles on mostly single track trails. Courses include substantial elevation gain, rugged terrain and muddy sections.

A Backyard Ultra near Wingate, Indiana on a measured 4 miles 880 feet loop. Runners repeat the circuit each hour, using mixed surfaces and common aid stations, until one competitor completes one more loop than all others.

Run With The Squirrels is a low cost trail event at Morgan Monroe State Forest offering 5K, 10K, 10 mile and half marathon distances on April 25. Optional shirts cost $15 and half of shirt proceeds support the school art program.

Trail race in Lebanon, Indiana on 05/15/2027 offering 4, 8 and 12 mile options on paved rail to trail with wooded and open views. Community focused event with awards, post race refreshments, and inclusion of non binary competitors.

A 100 km ultramarathon and a 20 mile loop run take place in Morgan Monroe State Forest on June 4-5, 2027, featuring about 8,500 ft of climbing. The course is mostly single track and the 100 km has a 20 hour cutoff.
