Trail Running calendar near Wrexham 2026-2027

SkyRun Eryri in Rhyd-Ddu, Eryri/Snowdonia stages four mountain races from 16 km to 55 km on 15 August 2026, with large elevation gains, aid stations and a mix of ridgelines, scrambling and technical trails.

Annual mixed terrain running event in Tywyn with multiple course options including the Rotary Challenge. The race publishes past results, offers volunteer roles and merchandise, and runs alongside the Talyllyn Railway.

A 7.5 km fell race around Cwrt-y-Cadno Show fields with 264 m of climb; entry to the show is £5 and the course is partially marked with a minimum age of over 16.

A 10 km circular trail around Piethorne and Ogden reservoirs with about 275 m of ascent; the route passes over and under the M62 and reaches Hollingworth Lake. Held in Newhey, Rochdale on 16 August 2026 with a minimum age of 16.

A fell race in Crowden on 16 August 2026 following the Pennine Way to Black Hill and Soldiers Lump. Online and on-the-day entry options are available, minimum age 18, limited parking and a GPX route is provided.

A five-round trail series at Wirral Country Park held on the third Tuesday each month from April to August, featuring an approx 8K course. Entry is available per race or as a series and trophies are awarded for overall series results.

Challenge yourself on the Pilgrims Cross Fell Race across the West Pennine Moors, a scenic but tough 10.7 km with 390 m of climb. Entry is on the day only with a small fee, and the race features in the Rossendale midweek series.

Trail half marathon and 10k around Carsington Water on 22 August 2026, run on marked trail paths with marshals and an event village. GPX files are available for both courses.

Summer Extravaganza offers five distances on a flat canal towpath near Kirkstall, Leeds. The event includes regular feed stations, marshals, a bespoke finisher medal and food options at the finish.

Timed laps around a flat 5.3 km out and back course on the River Mersey in Chorlton Water Park. This final race in a 2026 Summer Series supports The Animal Sanctuary Wilmslow and includes a bespoke finisher's medal.

A multi terrain fell race at Gargrave Show with river crossings, woodland, open moor and a steep ascent of Sharphaw. Events run for juniors through seniors; race entry is free while show admission is charged.

A chip-timed, fully signposted circular fell race of 30 km on footpaths, bridleways and roads around Belper on 23 August 2026. The route includes Roman roads, ancient woodland and sections of the Midshires Way.

Multi distance trail event in Preston on 23 August 2026, with 10k, half, marathon and ultra options on mainly hard surfaced park paths. Aid stations, bespoke medals and a six hour time limit are included.

A five mile trail race at Pennington Flash on 23 August 2026, organised by Leigh Harriers at Leigh Sports Village. The event is licenced by TRA and held under UK Athletics rules, with separate affiliated and unaffiliated entry prices.

A single-lap, multi-terrain trail race of about 7 miles through Adel Woods, Scotland Woods and Meanwood Park in Leeds, organised by Valley Striders AC with on-site facilities, age-group prizes and fundraising for St Gemma’s Hospice.
