YoungLife Run & Relay

YoungLife Run & Relay is a charity trail running event held at Mobberly Baptist Church - Williams Lake Pavilion in Longview, TX. The event combines mountain bike and hiking trails with a loop around Williams Lake, using wide dirt single-track and mixed surfaces near a lake.

Distances offered:

  • Half Marathon
  • 25K Relay (team)
  • 10K RUCK
  • 10K Run
  • 5K Run

The course includes roots, ditches, bridges, grass, and gravel, and is described as relatively flat. Historic average temperatures for the event period range from about 60 to 81 degrees. The event does not provide disposable cups; participants should bring their own water-carrying system.

Ruck requirements are specified: runners weighing more than 150 lbs carry a 30 lb ruck, and those under 150 lbs carry a 20 lb ruck. Ruck sacks or vests are allowed.

Event gear and recognitions include a finisher medal, event T-shirt, a RUCK patch, first place awards by gender for each distance, and a "Dead Freakin' Last" award for the half marathon. The event features aid station food and hydration, course marking and support, photography, and volunteers. All profits support the nonprofit Christian organization YoungLife.
