Wondai Country Running Festival
The Wondai Country Running Festival is a two-day running event in rural Wondai, scheduled for 27 and 28 June 2026. The festival is based in the centre of Wondai on the South Burnett Rail Trail behind the town hall, with start points within walking distance of the town centre and free local parking.
The program includes sealed rail-trail road runs and cross-country forest trail runs through the nearby McEuen forest. The forest course is undulating and passes through Spotted Gum and Wattle woodland. Rail-trail events use a fully sealed bitumen surface. Road crossings on the trail are manned by the local SES and first aid facilities are available in Wondai and on the courses. There are regular toilet facilities and drinks stations along the routes.
Bib collection is available across the festival weekend, with Sunday pickup by arrangement. Festival apparel can be preordered and collected with race packs. Runners who complete a Saturday afternoon forest trail and a Sunday rail-trail run receive a gift of local produce. Registration for the 2026 festival will open in January 2026.
