The Womp Romp takes place Saturday, October 24, 2026, at South Field in Wompatuck State Park, Hingham, MA. The event offers trail running distances and donates any surplus funds to charity partners: Friends of Wompatuck, Free to Run, and Footprints. Registration closes October 1, 2026.

Distances

  • 10 Miler - one loop
  • 50K - three loops plus about one mile

Course and logistics

Each loop mixes single track, wider trails, and some pavement. Each loop is about 10 miles and includes roughly 2 miles of paved surface. The course is marked with pink flags and arrows. Mud is expected. Tents may be set up at the site; campfires are not allowed. 50K runners pass the start area between loops and may retrieve items from a drop bag or vehicle. There is a nine hour cutoff for the race.

Aid stations and amenities

There are three aid stations per loop: start/finish area (bathrooms), mile 3.141592 (no bathroom), and mile 6 (bathrooms). Aid stations will offer water, NAAK, candy, chips, pickles, fruit, broth, and participant-donated items. The race is cupless; runners should bring a hand-held or collapsible cup.

Fees and awards

Entry fees listed are $55 for the 10 Miler and $75 for the 50K. A long sleeve tech shirt is provided to participants who register by September 20, 2026. 10 Miler finishers receive a patch; 50K finishers receive a finisher mug. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
