Woldumar Trail Run

Event overview

The Woldumar Trail Run takes place on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at Woldumar Nature Center, 5739 Old Lansing Rd., Lansing, MI 48917. The event includes a 5K trail run and the Delta Dental Muskrat Mile. The Woldumar Nature Association manages over 180 acres of prairie, pine forest, wetlands, and hardwood forest along the Grand River and engages more than 7,000 students in outdoor education each year.

Race details

Pre-registration is required; there is no race-day registration option. The course uses varied natural running surfaces and contains no pavement. Pets are not allowed on the course during the in-person event; they are welcome on the trails at other times. Participants may use strollers but should expect rugged and varied terrain. Refreshments are provided after the race. Children’s activities are offered during and after the 5K.

5K registration price increases over time; group discount saves $5 per person for four or more registering together. The Muskrat Mile registration is free, sponsored by Delta Dental. Long-sleeve shirts are included with registration; additional shirts are available for purchase while supplies last. All participants receive a finisher medallion; Muskrat Mile finishers receive a hand-made tree cookie medallion.

Timing, results and awards

The race is professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation. Results are available live during the event and afterward on RunSignup. Overall first-place winners receive hand-made natural wood plaques; 1st-3rd place awards are given in the listed age groups for all genders.
