WinterRock is a trail running event held at the Outlet Channel Shelter at Elk City Lake in Independence, KS. The event is organized by the FlatRock Race Series and is offered as part of the FlatRock Triple Crown.

The course is a technical, mostly single-track out-and-back on the Elk River Hiking Trail. The forest trail is accurately measured and winds through limestone bluffs, rock formations, and scenic vistas.
Aid on course is limited. The 25K has three aid stations and the 12K has one turnaround aid station; aid stations are unmanned, provide only water, and are spaced about 3.5 to 4 miles apart. No cups are provided, so participants must carry a handheld water bottle and bring any personal fuel they need.
Logistics note that packet pickup is at the Outlet Channel Group Shelter on the north side of the Elk City Lake dam, which is also the start/finish area. Volunteer benefits and a military discount are mentioned by organizers. The event has a deferral and transfer credit policy with a sliding scale for credit amounts based on how far in advance changes are requested.
Rules and safety information include no littering, no stashing supplies on course, trekking poles allowed, dogs allowed on leash, and that runners are responsible for their own preparedness.
