Winter Solstice Fun Run : Portland, 21 June 2026

The Portland Winter Solstice Fun Run is a community running event held in Portland on Sunday 21 June 2026. The event features multiple distances, a free kids run, and on-the-day registration. Courses are not suitable for prams or dogs. Portland Runners Club donates $2 per entry to Beats Cycle for Hope.

Race details

  • Irish Mad Mile - new short-city event, entry fee $20.
  • 1 km Kids Dash - free, held at the Ploughed Field.
  • 9 km Lagoon & Foreshore - route includes Fawthrop Lagoon and the foreshore, entry fee $40.
  • 15 km Lighthouse to Lighthouse - from Cape Nelson Lighthouse to town via Scenic and Cape Nelson Roads, entry fee $60.
  • 25 km Lighthouse to Lighthouse - Trail - includes elements of the Great South West Walk, entry fee $80.

Bib collection and bus departures are organised from the Ploughed Field (across from the hospital). Buses transport participants for some distances. The courses close in the early afternoon; the 25 km race uses a four-hour cutoff. Registration remains open through race day, including on-the-day entries.
