Course and Format
The Windsor Castle 10-Hour is a timed running event held at Windsor Castle Park in Smithfield, Virginia. Participants run laps on a 3.1-mile trail loop. The trail is described as smooth and groomed, consisting of packed dirt with some small, packed gravel. Each lap has an elevation gain of about 150 feet. The course includes both shaded and exposed areas and involves two low-traffic street crossings. An aid station is available, stocked with water, soda, snacks, fruit, granola bars, and warm food like potatoes and quesadillas throughout the day.
Race Options and Rules
In addition to the 10-hour event, there are shorter timed options: a 5-hour "Half Windsor" and a 2-hour "Mini Windsor." A single-lap 5k race is also offered. A rucking option is available for the 10-, 5-, and 2-hour events, with required weights of 30 lbs for participants over 150 lbs and 20 lbs for those under 150 lbs (exceptions can be requested). The event is manually timed. All runners are required to carry a hydration device on the course.
Amenities and Awards
Participants can set up personal chairs or tents (no larger than 10x10) near the trail. Awards are given to the top three women and men finishers in each event.
