Windsor Castle 10-Hour
The Windsor Castle races take place at Windsor Castle Park in Smithfield, VA and are organized by Lion's Pride Racing. The main event is a 10 hour trail race run on a 3.1 mile loop that gains about 150 ft per lap. The event is manually timed.
Available race options:
- 10 hour main event
- 5 hour Half Windsor
- 2 hour Mini Windsor
- One-lap 5k
A rucking division is offered for the 10 hour, 5 hour, and 2 hour events. Required ruck weights are 30 lbs for participants 150 lbs or more and 20 lbs for participants under 150 lbs; exceptions can be requested from the race director. All participants must carry a hydration device while on course.
The loop is a smooth, groomed trail composed mostly of packed dirt with some small packed gravel. The trail passes through shaded and exposed areas and includes two low-traffic street crossings. The course will be marked and the park is open so other users may be present.
A staffed aid station will provide water, soda, chips, pretzels, fruit, gummy snacks, granola bars, cookies, freeze pops, and warm food served throughout the day. Participants may set up chairs or tents no larger than 10x10 near the trail; there is ample tent area.
Awards are given to the top three women and men in each event. All finishers receive a home-made finisher medal and a finisher item. In the event of a tie in miles, the award goes to the runner who covered the miles more quickly. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
