Windsor Castle 10-Hour

Smithfield, United States • 11 Jul 2026

Event overview

The Windsor Castle races take place at Windsor Castle Park in Smithfield, VA. The event offers multiple timed options:

  • 10-hour event
  • Half Windsor (5 hours)
  • Mini Windsor (2 hours)
  • One-lap 5k

This is a low-key, manually timed event. A rucking option is available for the 10-, 5-, and 2-hour events with required weights of 30 lbs for participants 150 lbs or more and 20 lbs for participants under 150 lbs; exceptions can be requested from the race director.

Course and logistics

The loop is 3.1 miles and has about 150 ft of gain per loop. The trail is smooth and groomed, mostly packed dirt with some small packed gravel. The route passes through shaded and exposed areas and includes two street crossings with minimal traffic. The course will be marked and the park is open, so others may also be on the trails. All participants are required to carry a hydration device while on course. Runners may set up chairs or tents (no larger than 10x10) near the trail; there is space for a tent area.

Aid and awards

The aid station is stocked with water, soda, chips, pretzels, fruit (watermelon, bananas, oranges), gummy snacks, granola bars, cookies, freeze pops, and warm food items such as potatoes and quesadillas. Awards are given to the top three women and men in all events. All finishers receive a home-made finisher's medal and a finisher's item; ties in miles are broken by the faster time.
