Event overview

Whiterock Ultra is scheduled for July 25, 2026 at Whiterock Conservancy in Coon Rapids, Iowa. The event offers two main distance options:

• 50 mile
• 50K

Registration for the 2026 event is stated to open on December 6 on UltraSignup. Entry fees are nonrefundable and event proceeds are donated to Whiterock Conservancy.

Course and race operations

The course is organized into named loops: Red Loop, White Loop, and Blue Loop. Under the rain-route plan, the 50-mile course is described as three Red Loops, one White Loop and one Blue Loop, while the 50K course is one Red Loop, one White Loop and one Blue Loop; distances are noted as approximate. In cases of excessive rain, parts of the course may be moved to gravel roads, with the White Loop running on gravel and one minimum maintenance B road. The event maintains an inclement weather policy that allows race officials to delay, change, shorten or cancel the race for safety; aid station support and course access may be altered under those conditions.
