The event is the 13th anniversary edition of the Western Pleasure Snowshoe Roundup at Western Pleasure Guest Ranch in Sandpoint, ID, at 1413 Upper Gold Creek Rd. Registration closes on Fri, Feb 6. Rooms are available at the ranch for out of town guests. Hot soup and beverages will be available for purchase in the lodge.

Races, course and rules

• 5K
• Buckaroo short untimed race for racers 6 and under

Races include both competitive and recreational categories. A new recreational category is untimed and self-start; recreational entrants have access to aid stations and finisher awards but are not eligible for placement awards. Racers 12 and under race for free. Participants 7 and older must register online. The Buckaroo race is free and registers on race morning in the lodge.

Race courses combine hills, meadows, forest and open areas. Courses may be machine groomed, snowshoe groomed, or a combination. Placement awards are given to the first three male and female finishers in the 5K and 10K. All finishers in all races receive finisher awards. Competitive racers must use snowshoes no smaller than 7 in by 20 in. Number pickup and race day registration occur in the lodge. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
