Westcountry Ultra 100 Miler

The Westcountry Ultra is a 100 miles point-to-point race across Somerset combining the Flat 50 and Hilly 50 routes. The event takes place on Saturday 8 May to Sunday 9 May 2027. The route total elevation is listed as 9,538 ft and runners have a 32 hour cut off. The entry fee is £110.

The course follows a series of established paths including the Taunton to Bridgwater canal path, the River Parrett Trail, the England Coast Path and the South-West Coast Path. The route passes coastal and upland landscapes and features local highlights such as limestone formations, tall sea cliffs, an area designated as a dark skies reserve, Somerset’s highest hill, two areas of outstanding natural beauty and some distinctive local landmarks.

There are 13 aid stations and the race operates a cupless policy so runners must carry their own bottle and cup if required. Aid station supplies include water, coke, squash, sandwiches and a range of snacks. Tracking was introduced in 2025 and professional medical cover is provided. Coach transport from the finish to registration is available for a fee. Pacers are permitted from the halfway point and small drop bags are allowed at the midway aid station.

Recommended kit and safety guidance are provided by the organisers. Trophies are awarded to the first male and first female finishers and all finishers receive a medal. Entrants must be 18 or over and accept the risks of participation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
