Westcountry Ultra 100 Miler
Westcountry Ultra 100 Miler is a single 100 mile event that combines the routes of the Flat 50 and Hilly 50 across Somerset on Saturday 8th to Sunday 9th May 2027. The published elevation for the route is 9,538 ft and the entry fee is £110. The race has a 32 hour cut off.
The route uses a mix of obvious linear trails and marked sections. Long parts follow the Taunton to Bridgwater canal path, the River Parrett Trail, the England Coast Path and the South West Coast Path. Less obvious sections are marked with red and white tape and arrow signs. A GPX file is supplied with the race information for navigation and recce purposes.
There are 13 aid stations along the course and the event operates a cupless policy, so runners must carry their own bottles and a cup if desired. Aid stations provide water, coke, squash, sandwiches, crisps, fruit, nuts, sweets and other snacks; overnight stations have offered hot food in past years. Tracking was introduced for the race in 2025 and professional medical cover is provided.
Start and registration take place at Canal Road, Taunton, TA1 1PN and the finish is at West Somerset College, Bircham Road, Minehead, TA24 6AY. Pacers are permitted from the half way point at West Somerset College. Crews and supporters are allowed, and small drop bags may be left for the half way aid station. Trophies are awarded to first male and first female finishers and all finishers receive a medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
