West Line Winder

The West Line Winder is a trail running event held in Buena Vista, Colorado, as part of the 14er Fest. The course features a combination of single track trails and forest roads, offering views of the Collegiate Peaks. The terrain is characterized by an arid, desert-style environment located outside the Arkansas Valley.

Participants can choose from two primary distances:

  • 50k (approximately 31 miles)
  • 30k (approximately 18 miles)

The routes include approximately 4,000 feet of total ascent. The 50k registration includes a shirt, a finisher award, a 100ml bottle of whiskey, a three-day festival pass, a beer token, professional race photography, and live runner tracking.

This event is organized by Freestone Endurance and focuses on trail stewardship through its partnership with a multi-use trail festival. For those seeking an additional challenge, the Sawatch 50/50 involves completing both this race and the Sawatch Ascent 50k during the same weekend. Special awards are available for finishers of this combined challenge, including place awards for top overall performers.

Limited camping is made available at the Sawatch Ascent start and finish area in Nathrop. The event maintains a policy where a portion of the entry fee can be deferred to the following year if requested by a specific deadline in September, though refunds are not offered in the event of cancellation.
