Collegiate Peaks Trail Run
The Collegiate Peaks Trail Run is scheduled for May 1, 2027 in Buena Vista, Colorado. The event marks its 37th anniversary and was established in 1991. It offers two distance options and centers on a single loop course north and east of town.
The course begins and ends near the Arkansas River and primarily follows single-track and jeep trails. Part of the route runs along a section of the old Midland Railroad corridor and passes through areas managed by the National Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management. Much of the terrain provides long views and varying trail surfaces.
Race logistics use a loop that starts at nearly 8,000 feet above sea level. The course is up-and-down with more than 3,500 feet of elevation gain and drop on each loop. The 25-mile distance completes one clockwise loop, while the 50-mile distance completes the same loop twice, with the second loop run counterclockwise.
