Buena Vista Turkey Trot 5K
The Buena Vista Turkey Trot 5K is a family-friendly Thanksgiving event in Buena Vista, Colorado. The course is mostly flat, runs on well-maintained trails, and offers views of the Collegiate Peaks and the Arkansas River. There are a few bumpy trail sections, but the route is generally smooth and stroller friendly; children who ride in strollers do not need to register.

Registration is completed online with card payment only; registration opens fall 2026 and may close early if participant caps are met. Packet pickup takes place at Main Street Tavern on East Main Street and at the Start/Finish Line at East Main Street & South Railroad Street public parking lot in Buena Vista.
Awards and extras include place awards for the top three male and top three female 5K finishers, finisher awards for all participants, and medallions for young Family Fun Run finishers. The event collects food pantry donations during packet pickup for local organizations; bringing five items earns a discounted entry coupon for a future One Love Endurance Event.
