Welsh 1000m Peaks / Copaon 1000m Cymru

The event is a long fell race covering 32 km (19.9 mi) with approximately 2870 m (9416 ft) of ascent and finishes at Yr Wyddfa Summit. Main registration is in Abergwyngregyn on race day. Bus transport runs from Llanberis to registration and the start near Abergwyngregyn. There is no parking in Abergwyngregyn and no race day registration in Llanberis.

Safety requirements note that significant experience is required, navigational skills are required and local knowledge is beneficial. The minimum age for competitors is over 18. There are two cut-offs on the long course, located at Ogwen and at Pen y Pass. No early starts are permitted.

Team and prize arrangements include an Adult PAIR category in which both competitors must remain together at all times and only one member of the pair must meet the previous experience requirements on entry. Prizes are awarded for first, second and third PAIRS. A mixed team prize is determined by the highest three results from the same team or club and must include at least one female in those three results.

Pre-entry fees are listed as Solo £36 (£34 WFRA member) and Pair £34 (£32 WFRA members). Pre-entry includes coach travel, a souvenir race mug, GPS tracking and post-race chips and a hot drink. No entries on the day. After the race public buses operate from Llanberis towards Bangor, Caernarfon and Betws y Coed. Coastal ultramarathon between Prestatyn and Bangor with runnable sea views and inland hills. Choose a 50 km course reported as 53.8 km with about 2700 ft ascent or a 100 km route along the North Wales Path with about 8000 ft ascent.

A steep 4.7 km fell race near Penmaenmawr with about 489 m of ascent. The partly marked route uses rough, off track terrain and requires experience and basic navigation; parking is in the car park behind Spar.

Experience an epic guided traverse of the fifteen 3000 foot peaks in Snowdonia. This 48 km mountain run includes 4000 meters of elevation gain across three iconic ranges with full support and logistics provided.

A guided recce of the Paddy Buckley leg from Capel Curig to Nantmor across the Moelwyns, covering 35 km with 2,500 m of ascent on 3 May 2026. Small groups led by Mountain Leader qualified guides; entry fee £95 and minimum age 18.
