Washed Clean

Event Overview

Washed Clean is a trail running event held on the grounds of Genesis Church in York, Pennsylvania. The course leads participants through the church property and features a finish line covered in foam. This event serves as a final project for students in the seventh through twelfth-grade Health and Fitness class of the Genesis STEAM homeschool co-op.

The event offers three distinct distances:

• 5K Run
• 1 Mile Walk
• 1/4 Mile Kids Fun Run

The 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk take place on a trail with a total elevation gain of approximately 56 feet. While strollers are permitted on the course, participants should be aware that the trail surface may be uneven. Dogs are not recommended for this event. Parking is available on-site in the Genesis Church parking lot, with traffic guidance provided.

Registration Details

Participants who register by February 20, 2026, are guaranteed a t-shirt and a reusable water bottle. For those who register after this date, these items are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Additionally, the first 200 registered runners and walkers receive a ticket voucher for a York Revolution baseball game. Please note that the complimentary shirt, water bottle, and ticket voucher do not apply to the Kids Fun Run.

Purpose and Amenities

The event supports local charitable initiatives, with proceeds benefiting the Katallasso Family Health Center and the Genesis STEAM homeschool co-op. Katallasso provides healthcare services to uninsured residents in York County. On the day of the race, a mobile coffee vendor will be present to sell beverages. Awards are presented to the top three finishers in various age categories, ranging from 19 and under to 66 and older, as well as a category for stroller pushers.
