Ward Mountain Scramble Trail Run
The Ward Mountain Scramble Trail Run is a multi-distance trail event held at the Ward Mountain Forest Service Campgrounds, using Group Site A as the shared start and finish area. Courses are single track and dirt road routes with marked flagging and arrow signs; wrong way signs are placed where needed. Parking is available across from Group Site A.

- 5.5 plus miles
- 8.5 plus miles
- 13.3 miles
- Marathon distance run as two laps of the 13.3 mile course
Course notes include elevation gain estimates: about 270 feet for the 2 mile loop, 727 feet for the 5.5 mile course, 1,250 feet for the 8.5 mile course, and 1,850 feet for the 13.3 mile course. Aid station coverage varies by distance: none on the shortest course, one on the 5.5 mile, two on the 8.5 mile, and three on the 13.3 and marathon courses; the third aid station is self serve. There is one porta potty at the Ski Hill aid station and pit toilets at the start/finish and trailhead. Timing uses disposable chips.
Awards are given by course and gender categories and first dog awards are noted. All finishers receive a finisher medal and an event hat. Dogs are allowed under specific rules including leash and control requirements and owner cleanup responsibilities.
