The race began in 2006 as a 10 mile trail event originally known as the Hobbs Tail Twister and benefited the Rogers Lions Club. Since its start the event has grown and has donated more than $100,000 to the Rogers Lions Club and the Friends of Hobbs.
The trails at Hobbs are described as among the most "runnable" in northwest Arkansas, with terrain that is not highly technical or steep. The course characteristics are presented as suitable for first time trail racers as well as runners aiming to cover the trails at speed.
Hobbs State Park is Arkansas’ largest state park and sits on land that is the ancestral home of the Osage, Choctaw, Quawpaw and later the Cherokee. The event acknowledges and respects the long standing and sacred bond these First Nations have with this land. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
