2026 Wapiti Bush Run
The event takes place at the Gronlid Cross Country Ski Trails in Fort à la Corne Island Forest, Saskatchewan, about 46 km north of Melfort and a 10 minute drive from Wapiti Regional Park. The Melfort Cross Country Ski Club maintains nearly 20 km of trails year round.
Offered distances:
- 2.0 km Wild Ones Fun Run: Cabin to Skate Trail loop, about 2.5 km
- 5.5 km Race/Run/Jog: Ridge Trail to Skate Trail loop with hill and view
- 8.5 km Race/Run/Jog: Ridge to Jackpine to Skate Trail with hilly sections
Early Bird and General registration include a hot lunch with dessert, a beverage, and a swag bag with a signature Wapiti Bush Run toque. Late registration may not include swag. All registrations are final; there are no refunds, transfers to third parties, or deferments. Optional registration refund protection is available through the registration platform.
On race day race packages are available for pick up at the start line and a pre race briefing takes place before the events. Post race refreshments are provided at the finish. A luncheon at Gronlid Hall is available for registrants and those who purchased extra lunch tickets by August 15. Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the top three adult and youth male and female finishers in the 8.5 km and 5.5 km events, with additional special awards. Proceeds support trail infrastructure and nature conservation. Outdoor bathroom facilities are on site and visitors are asked to follow Leave No Trace principles.
