The Walnut Creek 5 & Dime is scheduled for Saturday, February 7, 2026, in North Garden, Virginia at 4250 Walnut Creek Road. The event includes two trail races:

  • 5k
  • 10 Miler

This is the second annual running of the Walnut Creek 5K and 10 Miler. Registration has a closing date before the race and race day registration is not available. CATs members receive a $5 discount on registration when using the account linked to their membership. Registrants receive race-branded swag and post-race refreshments.

Course and logistics

The course is on trails inside the 525-acre Walnut Creek Park and is approximately 90% wooded single track/double track and 10% open cross country/jeep road. The course features views of the on-site 45 acre lake. Reported elevation gain figures are 446 feet for the Nickel (about 5k) and 1,285 feet for the Dime (nearly 10 miles). Dogs, other pets, and strollers are not permitted on the race course. The event has a no-refund policy with an exception for pregnancy and postpartum circumstances; requests for such refunds must be directed to the race organizer. The race is scheduled to take place rain or shine; inclement weather that affects safety or trail conditions may result in delay or rescheduling.
