The Walnut Creek 5 & Dime is scheduled for Saturday, February 7, 2026, in North Garden, Virginia (4250 Walnut Creek Road). The organizer is the CATs. This is the second annual running of the event. Registration closes January 28, 2026. Registrants receive race-branded swag and post-race refreshments. CATs members receive a $5 registration discount when logged into the RunSignUp account used for their membership. The event will take place rain or shine; inclement weather that affects safety or trails may cause delay or rescheduling.

Distances and course

  • 5k - $30 entry; about 446 feet of elevation gain.
  • 10 Miler - $40 entry; nearly 10 miles with about 1285 feet of elevation gain.

The course runs on trails inside the 525-acre Walnut Creek Park and uses part of the TJ100k route. The surface is approximately 90% wooded single track and double track, and 10% open cross country or jeep road. The route features views of the on-site 45-acre lake.

Rules and registration notes

Race day registration is not available. Dogs and other pets are not allowed. Strollers are not permitted on the course. The event has a no-refund policy with an exception for pregnancy and postpartum circumstances; requests must be made to the race organizer.
