Crozet Trails Crew 5K/10K Trail Run + Family Fun Run
This event is a fundraiser for the Crozet Trails Crew, a community organization working to connect Crozet and Western Albemarle with trails and greenways. It takes place at Crozet Park in Crozet, Virginia, on the festival grounds by the pavilions.
Distances offered:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 10K
- Family Fun Run (0.75 mile)
All registered participants receive a race t shirt and pancakes at a pancake breakfast. Timing for the 5K and 10K has been improved this year. Participant limits are in place: the 5K is limited to 250 entrants and the 10K to 75 entrants. Registration opens on 2026-04-20 and closes on 2026-08-31; fees vary by event (5K $30, 10K $35, Family Fun Run $20).
Course notes: the 5K starts and finishes at Crozet Park and follows the Crozet trail to the east of the park on rustic singletrack with roots, rocks and ruts. The 10K loops by Lickinghole basin and crosses Lickinghole Creek, passing Chesterfield Landing. The Family Fun Run follows a short extension of trail past the dog park and returns to the park.
Prizes will be awarded for overall male and female first through third; first place male and female receive a bridge named in their honor. Kids under 7 may run the Family Fun Run for free if accompanied by a registered participant. Well behaved, leashed dogs are welcome. A post race trails fest will run at the finish, including a pancake breakfast, live music, local beer and cider, and coffee.
