The Wallowa Skyrace is a mountain uphill race held in Joseph, Oregon, at the Wallowa Lake Tramway on June 26, 2026. This is the event's 3rd edition. The course gains 3,700 feet of elevation over 4.2 miles, finishing at the top of Mt Howard. The route offers views of the Eagle Cap Wilderness and includes a tram ride down that is included with registration. The Mountain Runners operate the event under a special use permit from the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest. The participant field is limited.

Registration and race details

Registration closes on June 18, 2026. Entry fees are structured as follows: $90 until December 31, 2025; $100 until April 30, 2026; $110 until registration closes. Registration includes the tram ride down, a finisher medal, and post-race refreshments. Shirts are available for purchase for an additional $30. Packet pickup takes place at the Wallowa Lake Tramway on race day. Every participant receives a finisher medal; awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers. A $200 cash prize is offered to any participant who breaks the current course record; the listed course records are 1:02:25 (male, 2024) and 1:11:54 (female, 2025).
