The Wallowa Skyrace is a mountain running event held in Joseph, Oregon on June 26, 2026. The course rises 3700 feet over 4.2 miles from Wallowa Lake to the top of Mt Howard. The route offers views of the Eagle Cap Wilderness and finishes near the Wallowa Lake Tramway, with a tram ride down included for participants. The event operates under a special use permit from the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest. There is a limit on the number of participants and a course map is provided by the organizer.

Registration and logistics

Registration closes on June 18, 2026. Entry fees are tiered: $90 through December 31, 2025; $100 through April 30, 2026; and $110 until registration closes. The registration fee includes the tram ride down, a finisher medal, and post-race refreshments. Event shirts are available for an additional $30. Packet pickup takes place at the Wallowa Lake Tramway on race day. Every finisher receives a medal; awards are given to the top three overall male and female participants. Hurricane Creek Race Day in Joseph Oregon on May 23 offers a half marathon, 5 mile, 5K and 1 mile kids run with views of the Wallowa Mountains and Eagle Cap Wilderness. Proceeds benefit Wallowa Land Trust with awards, medals and a raffle.
