Vulture Vista Ultra Year Three

Vulture Vista Ultra is a runner-built loop event held inside the former limestone quarry at DePauw Nature Park in Greencastle, Indiana. The course is a 4.5 mile loop that passes tall rock walls, wooded singletrack, open trail, and offers wide views of the quarry cliffs. Turkey vultures are commonly seen overhead during the day.

Race formats include timed ultras and a single loop trail option:

  • 6 Hour Ultra
  • 12 Hour Ultra
  • 4.5 Mile Trail Run

Participants may compete solo or as part of a relay team in the timed events and complete as many laps as possible before time expires. The event provides two well stocked aid stations with Tailwind nutrition, a centralized start and finish area with space for crews or self support, and clear course marking.

Registration windows and fees vary by event. Registration for the 6 hour and 12 hour options opened 12/6/2025 and closed 2/27/2026 with fees listed at $65.00 for 6 Hour Solo, $55.00 per person for 6 Hour Relay, $85.00 for 12 Hour Solo, and $65.00 per person for 12 Hour Relay. The 4.5 Mile Challenge registration opened 12/5/2025 and closed 2/26/2026 with a fee of $35.00.
