VICTORY LANE BACKYARD 12 : Bussey, IA

VICTORY LANE BACKYARD 12 is a backyard ultra held at a farm starting and ending at the barn on Victory Lane in Bussey, Iowa. The format requires runners to complete a 4.167 mile lap every hour; laps must be finished within 60 minutes and there is a race cap of 12 hours. The winner is the last person to complete one more lap than any other participant; all other runners receive results reported as distance covered or laps completed.

The trail is mostly grass with sections of gravel and includes typical trail hazards such as roots, rocks, and uneven surfaces. There may be water on the course at this time of year. Snacks will be available at the starting corral and at an aid station.

Race procedure notes include mandatory return to the starting corral at the top of the hour, periodic time warnings, and restrictions on leaving the course during a lap except to use the restroom. Spectators, crew, eliminated runners, pacers, and personal aids like trekking poles are not allowed on the course. Upon completion of each lap participants may receive aid from their crew.

Crew space is located east of the barn in open areas; tents or canopies are allowed, vehicles must use designated parking, and crews must remove trash and pack up after the event. There is limited electricity on site. Early packet pick up is available prior to race day. Registration uses tiered pricing with a t-shirt add-on option and no refunds or transfers.
