Valencia Trail Race
The Valencia Trail Race is held in the hills and mountains surrounding Valencia, California, north of Los Angeles. The event takes place during the spring season, featuring a terrain of lush green rolling hills and local wildflowers. The course utilizes single-track trails and mountain roads, traversing peaks, ridgelines, and canyons while offering panoramic views of the Santa Clarita Valley.
Participants can choose from three distinct trail distances:
- 50 km Ultra: Includes 20 hills with approximately 8,008 feet of total climb and descent.
- Half Marathon: Covers 21 km with 9 hills and 3,233 feet of elevation change.
- 10 km: Features 5 hills with a total climb and descent of 1,735 feet.
The event is a cupless race to support sustainability; runners are required to provide their own collapsible cups, bottles, or hydration packs for use at aid stations. The 50 km course consists of approximately 50% single-track trails.
The race is chip-timed, and registration includes an official race shirt, a finisher medal, and a digital finisher certificate. On-course support is provided via multiple aid stations, with 2 stations for the 10 km, 5 for the Half Marathon, and 7 for the 50 km.
