Course and support
All distances use technical dirt trails with sections of singletrack, slickrock, ATV roads, and dirt roads. The 100 mile route includes paved road climbs on Smith Mesa, technical descents with a fixed rope section, and repeated aid station passes; the 100K and 60K share large portions of the route but diverge in places. Water crossings on Dalton Wash may be calf deep depending on weather.
Crew and pacer rules vary by distance: no crew or pacers for the half marathon and 30K; crew only for the 60K; crew and pacers allowed for the 100K and 100 mile. Drop bags are allowed for ultras with labeling rules and specific drop-off deadlines the night before the race.
Overall cutoffs are enforced: 100 mile - 36 hours, 100K - 22 hours, 60K - 13 hours, 30K - 7 hours, Trail Half - 5 hours. Aid stations provide water, electrolyte products, fruit, snacks, portable toilets, and basic first aid. Camping is available at Ruby Rider Ranch with primitive facilities and reserved sites.
