Vacation Races - Zion Ultras
The Zion Ultras take place on April 11, 2026, with basecamp, expo, start and finish at Ruby Rider Ranch in Apple Valley, Utah, adjacent to Zion National Park. Courses run across high-desert mesas and through desert singletrack, slickrock, and dirt roads, with sustained climbs, narrow rim sections, technical footing, and long sightlines to Zion’s sandstone cliffs and the Virgin River.
The event offers multiple distances that share sections around Wire Mesa, Gooseberry Mesa, the Mondo Z Cut, and Smith Mesa, and include technical segments such as the Flying Monkey Trail and potential water crossings in washes. Aid stations are fully stocked with hydration and food options, and later stations provide hot food; trained medical personnel are stationed at key aid locations and the finish area. Drop bags are permitted for the longer distances and must be checked at the expo; crew and pacers are allowed only for select distances and only at designated access points. The event enforces a cupless policy so runners must carry their own hydration system. An on-site expo provides bib pickup, race information, and merchandise, and a campground at Ruby Rider Ranch is available for participants and crews.
