Utopia Backyard Ultra 2026 : Tiffin Centre for Conservation

Utopia Backyard Ultra takes place June 27 to 28, 2026 at the Tiffin Centre for Conservation, 8195 8th Line, Utopia. The event follows the Backyard Ultra format: one lap is started every hour and each lap must be completed within the hour to count.

Each loop measures 4 miles 880 feet (6.7056 kilometers). The course runs mostly on crushed gravel maintained trails, with about 2 kilometres of sandier and woody trail on the back quarter. Elevation gain per loop does not exceed 45 metres. The route will be marked with arrows, flags, and reflective markers.

Event formats and fees are listed for different options:

  • The Backyard open ended format 185 USD or 210 USD.
  • Backyard 24 hour closed format 185 USD or 210 USD.
  • Backyard 12 hour closed format 120 USD or 140 USD.
  • Backyard 6 hour closed format 80 USD or 95 USD.

Early registration pricing applies through March 1, 2026; regular registration closes June 20, 2026. Group camping at the start/finish area is included beginning Friday June 26 until the event ends. Common aid stations will provide snacks, electrolytes and water; limited potable water and electricity are available. The planned 100 miler and 100 mile relay were cancelled and replaced by the Backyard fixed hour options.
