Utopia Backyard Ultra 2026

Utopia Backyard Ultra takes place June 27-28, 2026 at the Tiffin Centre for Conservation, 8195 8th Line, Utopia. The event follows the backyard ultra format: runners complete one lap each hour until only one finisher remains. New 100 mile solo and 100 mile relay options are offered for 2026. Start/finish line camping is available beginning Friday, June 26th. Aid station snacks, electrolytes, potable water and limited electricity are provided.

The required loop length is 4 miles 880 feet (metric 6.7056 km). The course uses mostly crushed gravel trails with about 2 km of sand/wooded trail in one section and rises no more than 45 m per loop. Organizers will mark the course with arrows, flags and reflective markers. Key rules: each loop must be completed within an hour to count; the winner is the last person to complete a loop; all other competitors are listed as DNF. Relay teams consist of 2-6 runners, each must complete at least one loop, only one team member may be on course at a time, and teams have 30 hours to complete the full 100 miles. Celebrate trails, hoodies, chili and beer at Chill Session 2025 at Mansfield Outdoor Centre. Choose a scenic 10K or 5K single track run or bring the kids for a free 1K, then relax with food, s'mores and a cold brew.

Join a half day trail running workshop at Devil's Glen and Nottawasaga Bluffs with an easy 5k social run, coach led tips on winter gear and training, and a take home plan. Enjoy a hearty lunch and support local conservation.

Run the Caledon Crusher on April 11, 2026 through the scenic, rugged Caledon Hills Bruce Trail with options from 25k to a 72k End to End challenge. Enjoy onsite food, a race shirt and finisher medal while supporting the Bruce Trail.

Take on Pick Your Poison, an annual April trail ultra around Horseshoe Heights near Barrie. Choose 12.5k, 25k or 50k loops, enjoy aid stations and boxed meals, and support mental health awareness.
