Utopia Backyard Ultra 2026

Utopia Backyard Ultra takes place June 27-28, 2026 at the Tiffin Centre for Conservation, 8195 8th Line, Utopia. The event follows the backyard ultra format: runners complete one lap each hour until only one finisher remains. New 100 mile solo and 100 mile relay options are offered for 2026. Start/finish line camping is available beginning Friday, June 26th. Aid station snacks, electrolytes, potable water and limited electricity are provided.

The required loop length is 4 miles 880 feet (metric 6.7056 km). The course uses mostly crushed gravel trails with about 2 km of sand/wooded trail in one section and rises no more than 45 m per loop. Organizers will mark the course with arrows, flags and reflective markers. Key rules: each loop must be completed within an hour to count; the winner is the last person to complete a loop; all other competitors are listed as DNF. Relay teams consist of 2-6 runners, each must complete at least one loop, only one team member may be on course at a time, and teams have 30 hours to complete the full 100 miles.
