Utopia Backyard Ultra

Utopia Backyard Ultra takes place June 27-28, 2026 at the Tiffin Centre for Conservation, 8195 8th Line, Utopia. The event follows the Backyard Ultra format: one loop is run every hour on the hour until a single competitor completes one more loop than all others. Registration is closed and a race guide is provided.

The course is a no-repeat loop of 4 miles 880 feet (6.7056 km). It runs mostly on crushed gravel maintained trails with about 2 km of sandier, woody trail on the back quarter and one small out-and-back section. Elevation change is no more than 45 m per loop. Common aid station snacks are available; personal aid during a loop is not allowed. A fixed starting corral is used and all competitors must start at the bell; each loop must be completed within an hour. Artificial aids, including trekking poles, are prohibited. Several entry options include start/finish line group camping beginning Friday June 26. Potable water and limited electricity are available. Event items and awards include a bamboo t-shirt, a challenge coin for 100 km, a belt buckle for 24 hours or 100 miles, and a bronze coin for the overall finisher. Deferrals and refunds are not offered; transfers to another racer are permitted up to the day before the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
