Pick Your Poison Trail Race
Pick Your Poison is an annual spring trail race held in the Copeland Forest near Barrie, Ontario. The 2027 edition takes place on April 24, 2027 and offers looped courses that award finisher socks. The event operates as a not‑for‑profit and directs proceeds to mental health awareness organizations.
The course follows a 12.5 km loop through the Heights of Horseshoe. The terrain is hilly with sustained climbs and variable spring conditions that have included warm weather and snow. Runners select one of three distance options; each option uses repeated laps of the same loop. Each loop contains three aid stations stocked with water, electrolytes, pop, candy, chips, pickles, and sometimes PB & J sandwiches or hot soup. Post‑race food is provided via a boxed lunch ticket. Kit pickup is handled on race day at the race venue.
Entry is first come, first served with a field capacity of 450 runners total and 150 runners per distance. Registration for 2027 opens December 1, 2026. The race uses Race Roster and maintains a waitlist; waitlist entrants are offered spots in order of signing. Refunds are not offered, but deferrals may be requested and can be carried over for up to two years. Distance transfers and deferral requests are allowed up to April 15 each year. Bib transfers are generally not permitted, with an explicit exception for runners aged over 70. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
