Course information includes GPX files for all distances and a requirement to carry the GPX file on the Gaia Maps app during the event. Elevation gain varies by distance (for example, the 100 mile course shows +4,862 m and the 21 km course shows +179 m). The 100 mile course uses 11 manned full-service aid stations; these stations supply water, Tailwind Nutrition, cola, fresh fruit and snacks. The event operates a plastic-free policy and runners must bring their own water vessel except for limited paper-cup provision on the 21 km course.
Mandatory equipment is specified by distance. For 50K, 100K and 100M this includes a mobile phone, a mini first-aid kit, a waterproof seam-sealed jacket, spare batteries or headlamp, a high-vis vest, warm headwear and minimum 1,000 ml of liquids plus a keep cup or soft flask. The 34K has a shorter mandatory list including a phone, space blanket and compression bandage.
Cutoffs are stated as durations for the longer events (for example 36 hours for the 100 mile and 28 hours for the 100 km). Pacers are permitted for the 34K, 50K, 100K and 100M at designated aid stations; pacers are not permitted for the 21K. Transport to start lines is provided by bus.
