Ullapool Forest Runs 2026

The Ullapool Forest Runs take place in Inverlael Forest, located approximately 9 km south of Ullapool. This event is a fundraiser for the Highland Hospice and features a five-hour endurance challenge on a trail and hill course. Participants navigate a loop that offers views over Loch Broom, the Summer Isles, and the peaks of An Teallach.

The event follows a lap-based format where individuals or teams aim to complete as many circuits as possible within the designated five-hour time limit. The course consists of the following distance:

  • 3.6 km lap

Participants can take part as individuals or in teams of two or four. The challenge is open to both runners and walkers. Completing 6 laps is equivalent to a half marathon, while 12 laps equals a full marathon distance. A final lap may be started up until the 4:59:59 mark, with a total course closure at 6 hours.

The event includes a designated pitstop area for participants to rest between laps. Race numbers must be worn and visible at all times for accurate timing. All participants receive a medal upon completion, with special awards for the winners of the individual and team categories. On-site catering provides hot and cold drinks as well as food options. Parking is available at the forest, which is accessed via a track off the A835. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
