Ullapool Forest Runs 2026 presents the Heartbreak Hill Five Hour Challenge on 13 June 2026 in Inverlael Forest, Ullapool IV23 2RG. The event is a fundraiser for Highland Hospice and has 58 places remaining at the time of publishing.

Participants complete as many 3.6 km laps as possible within a five hour time limit. Entrants may compete as individuals, pairs or quads, and teams may be male, female or mixed. Six laps is the distance equivalent of a half marathon and 12 laps equals a full marathon. The cut off to begin a final lap is 4:59:59 hours and the final lap must be completed by 6:00:00 hours.

Race numbers must be worn and visible at all times. Teams are allocated a race number belt that is handed between team members when the next member takes the route; belts and numbers are issued at registration. If members of the same team complete a lap together, that lap is counted only once for the team.

Transfers to another participant are permitted up to one week before the event; transfers are not allowed within one week of the event. There is no age or ability limit but under 14s must be accompanied at registration by a parent or guardian. Walkers may take part under the same rules and time limits.

On-site catering will be provided by NaeBad Coffee and Cakes Trailer offering hot and cold drinks plus sweet and savoury snacks. The course is accessed via a track off the A835 roughly 9 km south of Ullapool; car parking is available and car sharing is encouraged.
