Ullapool Forest Runs 2026

The Ullapool Forest Runs take place in Inverlael Forest, located approximately 9 km south of Ullapool. This event serves as a fundraiser for the Highland Hospice and is held on a course that offers views of Loch Broom, the Summer Isles, and the An Teallach peaks. The race is open to both runners and walkers, with no specific age or ability limits, provided participants adhere to the set time constraints.

Participants take part in the Heartbreak Hill Five Hour Challenge. The objective is to complete as many 3.6 km laps as possible within a five-hour time limit. The event accommodates various participation formats:

  • 3.6 km (Individual)
  • 3.6 km (Pairs)
  • 3.6 km (Quads)

The course is designed such that completing 6 laps equals a half marathon distance, while 12 laps equals a full marathon distance. A cut-off time of 4:59:59 is set for starting a final lap, and all participants must complete their final lap by the 6:00:00 mark.

The event features a designated pitstop area for those wishing to take breaks between laps. Food and drink services, including hot and cold beverages and various snacks, are available on-site. Parking is provided near the forest access track off the A835, and all finishers receive a medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
