Uinta Wilderness Ultra
The Uinta Wilderness Ultra is a trail running event held in the Uinta Mountain Range near Kamas, Utah. The course consists of a 13 mile loop that participants navigate once or twice depending on their chosen distance. The terrain includes mountain ridges, valleys, thick pine forests, and mountain lakes. Portions of the race take place on ATV trails that are closed to motorized vehicles during the event.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- Marathon+: A race spanning two loops of the course with 3,600 feet of climbing.
- Half Marathon: A single loop course with 1,800 feet of climbing.
The course reaches a peak elevation of 9,948 feet. For the Half Marathon, there is a 5 hour cut-off time and two aid stations. The Marathon+ distance has an 8 hour cut-off time and four aid stations. Stations provide water, Tailwind, fruit, and various snacks.
All participants receive a T-shirt and a finishers award upon completion of their race. Runners are required to check in on the morning of the event. All vehicles parked at the start and finish line location require a Mirror Lake Highway pass, which is purchased separately from the race registration. This event is part of the Trail to 100 series.
