True Grit Sydney is a weekend obstacle event held at Dragle Farm in Lower Portland near Sydney. The course is military inspired and uses the natural terrain, moving through grassland, pockets of rainforest, muddy swamps and rugged cliffs. A riverside festival area runs alongside the course with music, food and drinks.
Distances available:
- 30 km Challenge: three laps, one 5 km, one 10 km, one 15 km.
- 15 km Elite: timed competition, prizes for top three male and female, 16+ years.
- 15 km: standard long course, 16+ years.
- 10 km: classic True Grit course, 16+ years.
- 5 km: shorter course with 15+ obstacles, 12+ years.
The Elite wave is a timed competition with recorded finishers and podium prizes. Elite competitors attempt the harder versions of obstacles and must attempt every obstacle; a penalty of 20 burpees applies for failed or missed obstacles.
Facilities and services include at least one water station typically near halfway, on-site medical treatment, toilets and showers. On-site camping is available with riverside spots; camping pricing is Adults (15+): $30, Kids (2–15): $15, Kids (0–2): free. Parking is available on site for $10 per vehicle and there are designated areas for minibuses and coaches.
