Event overview
The Garigal Trail Event takes place on 6 September 2026 at Garigal National Park, with the event centre at Acron Oval, Acron Rd, St Ives, NSW 2075. The core format is repeated laps of a marked 5 km trail loop that features singletrack and rolling elevation. Each lap has a 45-minute cut-off; participants must finish a lap within that window to start the next. If a lap is missed, participants may rest and rejoin on a subsequent lap.
Format, distances and logistics
The event is fully timed with live tracking and instant results after crossing the finish line. Aid stations will be provided on course, and first aid services will be supplied by St Johns Ambulance. Food and drinks will be available for purchase on site. Additional on-site facilities include toilets within 20 metres, marked registration at Acron Oval, and parking on surrounding residential streets. Public transport options are limited, but buses stop near the oval.

- 20 km - 4 laps (The Trail Taster)
- 40 km - 8 laps (The Trail Trekker)
- 50 km - 10 laps (The Trail Blazer)
Other notes: organisers run a no plastic policy and ask participants to bring refillable water bottles; bubblers and water drums will be available. Ticket transfers are permitted for a $20 admin fee.
