About the race
Trick or Trail 5K and 1 Mile is a community running event in Hendersonville that combines a route through the Historic 7th Avenue District with sections on the Oklawaha Greenway. The courses are described as fairly flat and mix pavement and greenway trails. Organizers maintain a backup route because parts of the course are flood prone.

All participants receive an event shirt, free through September 27 then available for purchase, and a finisher item. The first 500 registrants receive a custom finisher medal. A costume contest with prizes is part of the event, and costumes are highly encouraged. Awards are given to top finishers in each age group.
There will be one water station on the 5K course, located just before mile 1 near Sullivan Park and the Boys and Girls Club. The event uses professional chip timing with a MyLaps system, including a timing chip on the back of the bib and timing mats on the course and at the finish.
The finish area opens onto local post race activities including vendors, the Fall Festival, and Hendersonville Farmers Market. Complimentary non alcoholic apple cider from Bold Rock Mills River is available at the finish. A virtual race option is offered and virtual participants receive mailed race swag.
