Trick or Trail 5k & 1 Mile

The 12th Annual Trick or Trail 5k & 1 Mile, presented by Aetna, is a Halloween-themed running event in Hendersonville, North Carolina, taking place on October 24, 2026. The event starts and finishes in Hendersonville’s Historic 7th Avenue District and connects with a Fall Festival at the Hendersonville Farmers’ Market.

Two distances are offered:

• 5k
• 1 Mile

Race entries include a custom finisher medal for all participants and an event shirt if registered before the stated deadline. The 5k is chip-timed and the course is described as well-marked and spectator-friendly. Additional participant items include a goody bag and complimentary race photos. A costume contest will be held with categories such as overall best-dressed kids, best-dressed individual, best-dressed friends or family, best-dressed pet, most original, and a novelty category; prizes will be awarded to winners and results are announced at an awards ceremony.

The event supports local causes; the Boys and Girls Club of Henderson County is collecting new winter items including socks, beanies, blankets, gloves, jackets (5T to adult 2XL), sneakers, toys, and sunscreen. In-person, virtual, and transfer options are available under the event's stated registration policies, including deferral and race-distance change options.
