Trick or Trail 5k & 1 Mile : 12th Annual
Trick or Trail 5k & 1 Mile is a Halloween-themed running event presented by Aetna on October 24, 2026, in Hendersonville, North Carolina. The race is based in the Historic 7th Avenue District, with activities extending to the Fall Festival at the Hendersonville Farmers’ Market.

The event includes a costume contest with categories such as Overall Best-Dressed Kids Costume, Best-Dressed Individual, Best-Dressed Friends or Family, Best-Dressed Pet, Most Original Costume, and a novelty category for notably impractical running outfits. Costume winners receive prizes and are announced during the awards ceremony.
Race entry items and services are listed for participants: a commemorative finisher medal, an event shirt free if registered before September 27, a goody bag, complimentary race photos, chip timing for accurate results on the 5k, and a well-marked, spectator-friendly course. Packet pickup is on race day near the start/finish, close to Nelon’s Feed, from 8:30 to 9:30 AM.
A virtual race option is available and virtual swag is shipped after the event; transfers to the virtual event within two weeks of the race incur a $12 charge. Deferrals may be requested up to 15 days before race day with applicable fees; all registrations are non-refundable. The organizer may modify, postpone, cancel, or convert the event to virtual if required, and in-person registrations will be moved to the virtual option with swag mailed at no extra charge if conversion occurs.
