Course and Location

Both the 10K and 5K routes start and finish at Potter Park, following the Lansing River Trail. The 10K route will have a slight detour in 2026 due to trail construction but will remain along the river trail. A water station is located at the 5K turnaround point, south of Impression 5.

Registration and Fees

Entry fees increase over time. The initial fees are $30 for the 5K and $35 for the 10K. Discounts are available:

  • A $5 discount per person is applied automatically when three or more people register together.
  • A referral program offers a $14 discount on a participant's registration if three friends sign up using their unique code.

Beneficiary

Proceeds from the event benefit the Friends of the Lansing Regional Trails, supporting their work for a safe, clean, and expanded trail system.

Additional Information

Packet pickup is available on the Friday before the race at WIELAND on English Oak Drive, and on Saturday morning at the starting line. The event is professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation. Awards are given to overall winners, masters (40+), and grand masters (50+) for each distance. The Spring Trail Trot is a flat, well-marked 5k trail run/walk around Lake Lansing North. All participants receive a T-shirt, sticker, and finisher patch, with chip timing and age group awards. The pet-friendly event also features a vehicle..

This 5K on the flat Lansing River Trail finishes near the Lugnuts' Jackson Field. Registration includes a race medal, T-shirt, and entry to the Beerfest at the Ballpark. The event is timed and features age group awards.
