Tideland 24 is a 24 hour ultramarathon held in the Croatan National Forest near Cedar Point, North Carolina. The event is organized by Tideland 24 and takes place on the Tideland National Recreation Trail, a USATF certified loop of 1.37779 mile that runs along the White Oak River, adjoining salt marsh and forest.
The trail surface is well groomed crushed gravel with minimal trip hazards and little elevation gain. The course includes various aluminum and wooden bridges. Wildlife is present in and around the marsh and the tides change over the course of the event.
The event donates proceeds to the Marine Raider Foundation and reports having raised over $39,000 to date. The race partners with the MILES FOR MARSOC Community Athlete Program; participants who raise funds for the Marine Raider Foundation may have their entry fee waived, per event procedures. Awards are presented for the top three male and top three female finishers, for top active duty performances, and all participants who complete 100 miles receive a 100 mile belt buckle.
The event is organized as a non profit and donates all net proceeds to the Marine Raider Foundation. Registration closes on November 2; no deferrals, transfers, or refunds are offered. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
