Tideland 24 - Cedar Point, NC
Tideland 24 is a fully supported 24 hour ultramarathon held in the Croatan National Forest. The event takes place at the Tideland Trailhead on Croatan Forest Road in Cedar Point, North Carolina and uses the Tideland National Recreation Trail.
Participants run a USATF certified 1.37779 mile loop that follows the White Oak River and passes through adjoining salt marsh and forest. The course includes aluminum and wooden bridges and a well-groomed trail surface of crushed gravel with minimal trip hazards and little elevation gain. Wildlife and changing tides are visible from the route.
Awards are presented to the top three male and top three female finishers and for the top active duty performance. Runners who complete 100 miles receive a 100 Mile belt buckle.
The event operates as a non-profit and donates every dollar, after costs, to the Marine Raider Foundation; to date the event has raised over $39,000 for that organization. In 2026 the race again partners with the MILES FOR MARSOC Community Athlete Program; athletes who raise funds for the Marine Raider Foundation may have their entry fee waived by arrangement with the Race Director. No deferrals, transfers, or refunds are offered. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
