Tideland 24
Tideland 24 is a fully supported 24-hour ultramarathon held in the Croatan National Forest near Cedar Point, NC. The event takes place on the Tideland Trailhead section of the Tideland National Recreation Trail and runs around the White Oak River and adjoining salt marsh and forest.
The course is a USATF certified 1.37779 mile loop. It includes a mix of aluminum and wooden bridges and a well-groomed trail surface composed of crushed gravel. The organizer describes minimal trip hazards and minimal elevation gain along the loop.
All proceeds benefit the Marine Raider Foundation; to date the event has raised over $39,000. The event is organized as a non-profit and donates every dollar, after costs, to the Marine Raider Foundation. Registration closes on Mon, Nov 2 at 11:59 PM ET. In 2026 the event partners with the MILES FOR MARSOC Community Athlete Program; runners who raise funds through that program may have their entry fee waived—participants should contact the Race Director for details.
Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers and for top active duty performances. Participants who complete 100 miles receive a 100 Mile belt buckle. The course allows runners and walkers to cover as many laps as they choose while observing the surrounding marsh and wildlife. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
