Three Day Trail Running Stage Race

Three Days of Syllamo is a three day ultrarunning stage event held primarily on singletrack trail at Blanchard Springs Recreation Area. Runners may enter one, two, or all three stages for a collective distance of about 94 miles.

Distances:

  • 50K on the Syllamo Trails.
  • 50 mile across Sylamore, Syllamo and Ozark Highlands Trails.
  • 20K on the Jack's Branch Loop.

Courses change each year and may include singletrack, off-highway vehicle roads, gravel, creek crossings, boulder fields, steep climbs and flowy sections. Average elevation gain ranges from about 130 to 175 feet per mile, with some sections exceeding 200 feet per mile. High and low points are roughly 1,400 ft and 300 ft above sea level.

Aid stations are spaced roughly 4 to 9 miles apart. Stations provide electrolyte mixes, ginger ale, Coca-Cola, water, gels or chews, solid foods, and often warm cooked items when weather is cold. Organizers do not supply cups or NSAIDs; runners should bring their own water bottle. Cutoffs are enforced at aid stations and each day has a published time limit.

Pacers are allowed on the 50 mile stage with no more than one pacer at a time. Crew access is permitted at specified Saturday locations such as Gunner Pool, Barkshed and Turnaround. On site camping is available; group sites reserved by the race are primitive with water and restrooms and heated restrooms and showers are typically available. Post race meals are provided to runners and finishers receive custom awards; completing all three days earns the event Rock. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
